A Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) splitter is an optical power management device fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology, designed to distribute optical signals from a Central Office (CO) to multiple end-user locations. Blockless PLC splitters provide superior fiber protection compared to bare fiber splitters, a result of the miniaturization of cassette-type splitters. They are primarily used in various connection distribution boxes or network cabinets.
